There was no Perszewski after the arrival of his baby daughter , no stinton ( ribs ) Aviss ( unavailable ) and god knows where Wysome is ??
Taylor came in for Aviss and Vaux for Perszewski the only changes after the excellent win at Barry last week . Rhys Redman was fit and joined the subs bench in place of his brother Mark.
In very blustery conditions Troedyrhiw started the brighter with a little more possesion but neither side threatened either keeper in the early exchanges.
Great chances soon fell to Vaux who headed wide from 5 yards after a Baugh flick on and Shire was through with only the keeper to beat but failed from a few yards out . Troedyrhiw were in front with their first strike on goal after 28 minutes , poor judgement from Tanner in the wind saw the centre forward have a strike at goal and the depairing lunge from Taylor could not prevent the ball crashing past keeper Hart . The final 15 minutes were played out first in bright sunshine then a horrendous , freezing snow blizzard.
HT Troedyrhiw 1-0 Llanwern
The second half was only 5 minutes old when a corner from Currie bounced up in the box and centre half Binning acrobatically volleyed into the net from 6 yards out . 1-1.
despite the poor conditions llanwern began to control the things which they failed to do first half and Currie , Vaux , Power and Shire in the last 5 minutes once more spurned excellent chances , the game ended 1-1 but once again the Steelmens failure to convert a hatfull of chances have cost them the 3 points and see their outside chance of a promotion push probably fade away .
Two big training sessions now ahead of the divisions form team Bettws visiting Newport stadium next saturday , lets get together and move on again !!
