Now then, things were looking a little tricky before a ball was kicked with centre halfs Mike Binning and Carl Baugh both ruled out plus Matt Currie. Steve Perszewski and Matthew Pimm were also unavailable limiting the squad to 14 players, but within 10 minutes Marcus Power and possibly Nick Ahearne should have put the visitors ahead but on 13 minutes from constant pressure and a resulting Fernquest corner a defender blatantly punched the ball away lfor the easiest decision a referee could make pointing to the spot, strangely the player didnt even recieve a caution ??? but Power tucked the spot kick confidently away for 1-0. On 19 minutes a simple back header from Golledge was misread by keeper Cairns who came tearing out of his box only to see the ball roll towards the goal and the centre forward walk the ball into an empty net 1-1
Things got worse with 23 minutes gone when a soft challenge on keeper Cairns saw a free kick given but for some reason the keeper decided to get up, square up to his opponent and head butt him! Straight red end of. Centre half Mike Aviss had to take over between the sticks and some how Llanwern to their credit did not look like a side with 10 men.
HT 1-1
With a strong wind behind them Treharris were on the front foot and from a long ball to the back post the ball was bundled in for a 2-1 lead on 58 minutes. Things got worse on 60 minutes when striker Mike Vaux had to be replaced due to hamstring injury and worse was to come when Marcus Power also had to be replaced through injury Luke Palmer and Danny Penn were introduced. A super Fernquest long throw of some 35 yards in the 75th minute was headed goalwards by Palmer only to see the Treharris keeper make a superb full stretch save to his left. The tired 10 men of Llanwern worked superbly and great work from Danny Penn released Tom Hooper down the right flank and his first time cross was met by captain Ritchie Shire with a powerful header to make is 2-2 in the 86th minute. Just when you think your luck has changed you need to think again! Treharris pumped the ball forward, centre half Leyton Golledge seemed to be fouled and lost his footing allowing the centre forward a scuffed strike from 16 yards which some how eluded make shift keeper Aviss and bobbled into the far corner for 3-2. Even worse was to come when on 91 minutes fill-in centre half Spiteri was shown a second yellow card for what the referee again mysteriously said was for descent,
FT 2-3
It really is backs to the wall stuff now with Baugh, Binning and Pimm ruled out for the next fixture along with suspended duo Cairns and Spiteri and probably the injured duo of Power and Vaux.

IT DOESNT RAIN IT POURS!!!!!
