Another home game and same old story , plenty of possesion , plenty of crosses into the box and a handful of chances but once again poor finishing saw the Steelmen get beat and stay dangerously close to the relegation places.
After going 1-0 down on 12 minutes the home side soon go themselves back into the game when a right wing cross landed at the feet of Tom hooper who acrobatically scissor kicked his effort into the top corner from 10 yards out , unfortunately this was his last contribution of the game as he then limped off with a calf strain to be replaced by Ryan Corey. Denis Spiteri unavailable midweek came back in to the side at left back but the unfortunate Matt Currie was absent due to work commitments , Mike Aviss absent through suspension since December came in up front for Kieron porter who had work commitments and despite missing two very good headed chances caused problems for the Emlyn centre halfs. Emlyn keeper cutlan caused problems in the first half with is mammoth kicking in the wind and this assisted in the next goal 4 minutes before the break when a long punt was misjudged by Palmer in the sun and evaded the wern centre halfs giving the striker a free run in on goal and he finished wel.

HT 1-2

The second half started brightly with the wind in their favour the Steelmen poured forward putting the visitors under pressure and were virtually camped in their opponents half for the first 25 minutes but again poor finishing and that final ball not being good enough came back to haunt them as another long ball saw golledge attempt to head back to Church in goal the ball fall short and once again the striker nipped in to score . Shipley replaced Shire on 75 minutes and llanwern went to a 3/4/3 looking for a goal and Aviss when in a good scoring position on the edge of the box chose to square the ball to Power who turned his man and curled his effort agonisingly against the cross bar. Despite pressing forward another error after a big long ball saw Golledge handle the ball on the edge of the box . Emlyns Portly striker struck a venomous spot kick but Nicky Church threw himself to his left to make an outstanding save and deny the striker for the second time from the spot this season.
A long range pinpoint ball from Binning on 82 minutes saw him find Shipley who chested it down turned but struck his shot straight at keeper Cutlan from 8 yards out .
The final act of drama saw striker Aviss stretch for a decent chance with 5 minutes to go and as his opponent fell over the top of him and on to the floor Aviss screamed in his face and got himself a yellow card this was followed by an outburst to the official and a second yellow and his marching orders which will result in a further suspension having just returned from nearly 12 weeks out , ( incredible )

FT 1-3
