Another local derby, they seem to be every other game !!
Mike Binning , Luke Fernquest , Denis Spiteri , Alan Davies and Matt Smith were all absent but Keiron Porter , Nicky Church and Leighton Golledge all returned
It certainly was a must win game for both sides and it was the Steelmen who deservedly took the points over a battling Crows outfit . First half goals from Mike Vaux and Richie Shire should have been enough to see out the game until the interval but 5 minutes of switching off saw the Crows grab a goal back
HT 2-1
Within the space of the opening 10 minutes Llanwern should have put the game out of site but Mike Vaux missed two chances then had a ball knocked off the line .
On 73 minutes a goalmouth scramble saw Ashley Sully make it 3-1 but as is the norm it was give the opposition a chance time and a penalty on 84 minutes made it 3-2 and then it was backs to the wLL stuff as the crows through everything at the Steelmen and a deflected shot off the excellent Golledge hit the outside of Church,s post!!
FT 3-2
A deserved three points but credit to |Cwmbran who never gave up the chase and they are nowhere near ability wise the bottom six position that they are in and there manager Barrie Hughes deserves a slice of luck to pull them away from the ridiculous dogfight that the welsh football league have set up .
Next up is a vital trip to Careau Ely this Weds 6.30pm KO
