It could have been batten down the hatches with no Binning , Aviss , Currie , Spiteri , Golledge , Fernquest and Church but despite the fact that poor old Alan Davies had to go in goals having never been in there before the Steelmen truly did live up to their nickname .
Croesy scored from a cross in the 20th minute and it really did then look like it was going to be a long game with Davies looking like a fish out of water but credit goes to the 10 players in front of him there after as he did not have to make a save all game .
with the half time score of 1-0 the dressing room talk was of the nature of its our game if we show the right attitude and that is exactly how the second half went and this despite a big reshuffle when temporary manager Matt Smith landed very badly on his back and had to be taken to hospital . Llanwern took the game to the home team and a superb Marcus Power curling shot from 20 yards on 74 minutes levelled matters and in fairness it should have been all over 5 minutes from time when the constant danger of Mike Vaux struck the inside of the post from 15 yards out and the ball rebounded to him and he smashed it over the top !!! Oh for one stroke of luck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
